Is there a word limit or usage cap?
No. You can listen to unlimited text, PDFs, EPUBs, websites, and scanned documents. There is no daily quota or monthly cap.
Can SayTXT read PDF aloud?
Yes. SayTXT reads both native PDFs and scanned PDFs (using built-in OCR). Import a PDF from Files, iCloud, or share it from any other app.
Can SayTXT read scanned PDFs and printed books?
Yes. SayTXT has built-in OCR. Point your camera at a printed page, or import a scanned PDF, and SayTXT will extract the text and read it aloud.
Can SayTXT read websites?
Yes. SayTXT has a built-in browser. Open any website, tap listen, and SayTXT will read the article aloud with continuous auto-scroll across pages.
Can SayTXT read behind login walls (like Substack, Medium, Patreon)?
Yes. Because SayTXT uses its own browser, you can log in to sites like Substack, Medium, or Patreon and listen to subscriber-only articles.
What file formats does SayTXT support?
PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT, HTML, and any photo (via OCR). You can also paste plain text directly.
Can SayTXT read EPUB books?
Yes. Import an EPUB file and SayTXT will read it aloud with chapter navigation, background playback, and sleep timer.
What format does SayTXT use when I save audio?
SayTXT exports PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT, Link, and Text Input items as AAC on iPhone and iPad or WAV on Android. Built-in browser Web Pages cannot be exported. You can reuse exported narration in videos, podcast production, presentations, lessons, and other creative projects. SayTXT does not batch-convert items or publish directly to podcast platforms. Only reuse narration from text you own or are authorized to use, and follow applicable disclosure and licensing requirements.
Can I replay content without an internet connection?
Previously played PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT, Link, and Text Input items can be replayed from cached audio. Pages opened through the built-in browser are not cached; after leaving, reopen the page and wait for audio to be generated again.
What languages does SayTXT support?
SayTXT supports 31 voice languages: Arabic, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
SayTXT detects the primary language of the selected text. It does not automatically switch voices between language segments in the same document.
Does SayTXT require an account, and where are imported files stored?
SayTXT does not require an account. Imported files stay on your device, and the spoken audio is generated on your device.
How is SayTXT different from Speechify?
